"Just before Christmas, a year ago, I entertained my church group at a luncheon. They left around 1:00 PM. I left the living room and went into the family room. About 2:15 PM, the smoke alarm sounded. Black smoke hung in the air in the living room. I had left a votive candle lit on the mantle. It burned into the wood, then caught the artificial greenery on fire. The smoke filtered all through the house.

We called our insurance company. Their adjustor called almost before the fire department had left. He said that he called Barry [B & B Professional Cleaning]. I knew Barry - he had cleaned my carpet about six weeks before the fire, and I was pleased with how professionally he did the job.

Barry came right away and started the ball rolling in starting the clean up. He and his crew were so efficient and helpful. Barry made sure every part of the clean up was to my satisfaction. "After a Friday night out in Lawrence my daughter and I came home on February 21st, 2003, to a house absolutely full of smoke. A lamp shade had fallen over on the kitchen table after I had closed the back door and started a horrific smoking mess which was probably about to burst into flames when I came home!!

Barry and his team immediately began the task of cleaning, packing & storing every salvageable item in this house! Then Barry & his team thoroughly cleaned the smoke damaged walls/floors & prepped the house to be totally repainted & updated. When the house was completely repainted & restored Barry & his team retrieved all the stored household items & moved them back in for us. I do not know what I would have done without Barry! "In early October, while out of town on business, I received a phone call informing me that my bathroom sink had been running for at least 24 hours and that my floor coverings and floors were soaked and in bad condition.

I returned to a cold, wet, musty home that was temporarily unlivable. I contacted my insurance agent, who suggested a carpet cleaning company for me to contact. Upon contacting this company, I reached their answering machine, which advised that they were out of town until the following Monday and, that if it was an emergency, to contact B & B Professional Cleaning.

I contacted B & B late on a Saturday afternoon and Barry had no qualms about coming to my home that evening to assess the situation. He took the time to explain to me what action would be required to repair the damage that had occurred. Barry then returned to my home the next day, a Sunday, to begin the long repair process.

After the floor coverings were removed, a couple of weeks were spent removing the several gallons of water from the flooring and, during this time, minor demolition of the damage took place as well. Then it was time to begin the repair and remodel of the bathroom, which had sustained water damage to the lower walls, trim, and vanity, as well as the floor. Barry enlisted one of his trusted contractors to handle the repair & remodeling aspect of the project. During the remodel, an unexpected problem was discovered. Barry took it upon himself to locate a reliable, experienced contractor to remedy this problem. Finally, after about five weeks, all of the repairs and remodel were complete and my family and I were able to return to our much 'improved' home.

Throughout this whole experience, not only did Barry communicate regularly with me regarding the status of the project, but, he also communicated directly with the contractors and with my insurance agent. As you can imagine, this type of experience can throw a wrench in your regular day-to-day routine, which can be very stressful. Barry made this awful experience bearable by his willingness to communicate with all parties whose involvement was necessary for a successful repair and remodel and by extending his patience and kindness throughout the long process.

I am thoroughly satisfied with the results and thank my lucky stars that the suggested carpet cleaning company was out of town when I called. I will definitely recommend B & B Professional Cleaning!"
