Preparing for ThermaPureHeat treatment

Before we arrive to treat your home, the estimator will ask a series of questions to ensure we have adequate access to the treatment space through windows and hallways.

It is important that you follow the directions on this site and from the technician very carefully so that you do not bring bed bugs back into your home after treatment on any items removed or on your own clothing. You must download and sign this preparation agreement to demonstrate that you understand the steps required to rid your home of bed bugs.

1. To prepare for treatment, remove all of the following to prevent damage.

  • Plants and animals must be removed
  • Candles, wax, crayons, lipstick and other meltable cosmetics
  • Medicines and vitamins
  • Aerosol cans, fire extinguishers, and other combustible items
  • Oil paintings and acrylic paintings
  • Plexiglass (plastic or artificial glass) picture frames
  • Vinyl records
  • Fresh fruits and vegetables, chocolates, carbonated beverages, wines (remove from adjacent areas also), liquors, vitamins, medicines, and artificial sweeteners.  In lieu of removal, place in a refrigerator.
  • Vinyl Shutters should be removed.
  • Antique furniture with finish or fragile glue points

2. All fire sprinklers in treatment areas must be drained and capped.

3. Remove vinyl blinds from windows and lay on floor under windows.

4. One hour before leaving the space, place all clothing that you will wear out of the building in the drier for one hour on high heat to kill any "hitch-hiking" bed bugs.

5. Put on your freshly dried clothing.

6. When you leave, DO NOT take anything, except yourself, your family and your pets. If you take personal items that have not been treated and return later with them, you may bring "hitch-hiking" bed bugs back into your home.
